Saints Saints Saints!!!

Patience. Determination. Will.
In Breesus we trust.
And especially in Coach Sean Payton!!

After years and years and years and years...
The SAINTS got into their 1st Superbowl...

and WON!!

Can you imagine the smile I have on my face as I write this very sentence? Can you imagine the pure joy New Orleans fans feel? Come on, we've all heard it. Dynasty vs Destiny. Peyton vs Payton. Experience vs will. The odds were against us. And ok, maybe I take too much credit when I say "the odds were against us". US? As my boss said, I'm not part of the Saints' US or WE; I sat on the couch and cheered. Well dammit, I've been cheering for over 20 years...I'm part of the team...so I'll say WE won, WE got the interception, WE tricked them, they lost to US...us..we..as much as I want! And yes, knowing the position we were in before the game, I had to limit my usual trash talking. Everyone knew it, we were expected to lose by 5 points. And so I was mad as heck when Greg Williams was saying we were going to tear Manning apart. Hello, we're the underdog, what are we doing trying to make threats at the big dogs?

Do we not know that Manning is basically the coach of his team? That he calls the shots? That by us basically saying we're gonna give him "Remember Me" hits, that's not in our favor? What the hell Mr. Williams??

Here, how about some peanut butter to wash down all your trash talking!
We get this far and start talking trash? Is that confidence? Or arrogance?!

Ok..in the end, it doesn't matter. Because we won. Will took us to our 1st Superbowl, and will took us to victory. Will also makes reference to Will Smith..but initially in saying Will, I meant our passion, our motivation, our desire, our willingness to get what needed to get done to WIN! This Superbowl was so much more than a game, so much more than just a championship. Indeed, it championed people, it instilled hope, it reinforced our faith. We stand by our Saints. Good or bad. And we've seen so much more bad than good. So yes, can we now bask in all this glory? (Growing up, the Saints weren't the best team to root for; they never really made it to the playoffs, and you could count on one hand how many winning seasons they had... we still can)

And let's consider what's been talked about all season- the Saints were considered a group of outcasts. Drew Brees wasn't wanted by the Chargers, nor by the Dolphins. Sharper had been with the Packers and the Vikings, and it seems like he's in his 20th season, now here with the Saints. Shockey..well, if you heard Drake's song...he's no Giant. Colston was a 7th round pick...not last, but almost there. They gave him a qb's # because they didn't think he'd make it past camp. I can go on and on and on. The truth is, we have guys 'past their prime' and guys who weren't supposed to have made it this far..projected at being decent...

Go figure, right?

Picture this:

A group of outcast kids. But they fight, they do not waver, and they WIN.
On a side note, I think this is another reason I don't like the Cowboys, because they're bullies, in the big league and the little league.

In closing, I'm so proud of New Orleans. Way to represent Saints!!

And if any of you have paid attention to my past writings, you would know that this sports blog was at its prime a couple of years ago. I may get 10 reads out of this, but who cares. My Saints just won at the SUPERBOWL!

What does this have to do with California? Well, Brees used to play in San Diego.

Referenced from my heart and a million other stories I've read...but here are just a few for you:
