Rickey Henderson, Hall of Fame God

Rickey Henderson Stealing BaseThat is the face of a Major League Baseball Hall of Famer, the face of the greatest leadoff hitter to ever lived. 94.8% of the HOF ballots, because those 5.2% were on crack. 1406 career stolen bases and 2295 runs scored, still a MLB record. Playing 25 years of baseball with 9 different teams, this man's life IS baseball.

Of all those 9 teams, Rickey's career is all about 1 team and 1 team only. When we think of Rickey Henderson, we think of the Oakland Athletics. When we think of the all-time A's, we think of Rickey Henderson. 4 different stints with the A's in his 25 year career, they're inseparable.

Ying and Yang. Salt and Pepper. Ketchup and Mustard. Rickey and Oakland...smokin'.

Rickey Henderson, you are one amazing gentleman. Without you, there wouldn't be any of today's Jose Reyeses or Ichiros. 130 stolen bases in 1982, get out of here. 66 stolen bases as a 39 year old, give me some of your Viagra. Stolen bases AND 28 homeruns and 61 RBIs in the leadoff spot to win the AL MVP, you are GOD. The number 24 means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING without your name on it...unless you're named Willie Mays, or you're a Jack Bauer fanatic.

The point is, at 50 years young, you are still a dawg with the ladies, you dawg.

Rickey Henderson, Dawg with the Ladies
P.S. Congratulations Jim Rice, you barely made it in.
