Cal Basketball: Golden Start

California Golden Bears Basketball
A couple days ago, I came across this peculiar image on the College Basketball main page on ESPN.com. I didn't know if I was dreaming or not. With the big name schools like UNC, Duke, UCLA, PITT, Wake Forest, Syracuse, Clemson, Texas, BC, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Marquette, Louisville, and Stephen Curry turning heads, I came across the California Golden Bears on the main college basketball page on ESPN.

This told me one thing: Mike Montgomery is a college basketball coaching guru.

Mike MontgomeryDon't be modest coach, you are the man!

To all those other baloneys out there who thinks he's a traitor, you must be from the FARM. As a Cal alum, you can all suck it! He just needed 18 years of coaching at Stanford and 2 ass-whooping years with the Warriors to realize something:

"Wow, where have I been these past 2 decades? What was I thinking? I've been searching for my soul around the Bay Area, but haven't really grasped it. Now, I've finally found my home, my domicile. This is BEAR Territory. This is MY Territory."

Cal is ranked #23 nationally, sporting a ESPN Sportscenter-like 15-2 record, currently on a 9 game winning streak. Next up on Saturday, Coach M's return to Stanford to show those trees what Golden Bear basketball is all about. Jerome Randle, Patrick Christopher, Pac-10 title, we finally have a legitimate shot.

Author's Note: This post is by no means biased toward the California Golden Bears. This post is only meant to present the facts. It's not like outsiders are looking up to old/current/new Cal students, like former Bruin Lorenzo Mata dying to be a part of Rod Benson's Boom Tho Movement, promoting his old teammate Russell Westbrook's run to be in the Slam Dunk Contest on Rod's blog. Luckily, Rod knew how to handle the situation.
